PROPOSAL

PREPARED FOR

FIRST & FOREMOST...

Thank you for the opportunity to capture the Brown Foundation's legacy in a new way.

Who We Are

Padrón & Co. was founded in 2017 by a couple very much in love with Houston and each other.

Our team now helps nonprofits reach new heights and new audiences using:

OUR MOTTO:

"Empathy by Design"

To create the best work possible, we believe it is our duty to consider everyone who would be interacting with the final product, from the client to their employees to the end user or viewer.

Truly great design, great marketing, and great service are always continual exercises in empathy.

We have spent almost eight years perfecting our company structure. We have hired the best local talent for the needs of our clients. We don’t offer any specialized services we couldn’t complete with our in-house staff, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness, and giving us the freedom to work with the clients we love.

Proudly based out of the Lyric Tower in Downtown Houston, TX.

Clients, Past & Present

We are so very proud to be defined by the company we keep. Ongoing clients or those we have worked with this year are in bold.

Your Leadership Team

Organizational Chart

Our team is broken up into content and creative departments with daily overlap and collaboration.

Daryl oversees all content creation, such as social media writing, website content, press releases, and general copyediting. She would also oversee much of the marketing plan research.

While Gracie oversees all creative and strategic planning, Minhthy ensures all projects are entered into our system, completed on time, and run smoothly.

Ian would be your dedicated video editor and main web editor. Catherine and Ashley would help with graphic and web support.

Past Work Examples

Good Reason Houston 2024 ConnectED Luncheon

  • Worked with the data collection team to best explain the three data points that best capture the state of education in Houston and how to improve them
  • Selection of a local videographer to record new interviews for their luncheon video
  • Script writing and voiceover support, editing of all clips into a final video
  • Animated graphics featuring the data from their snapshot report overlayed on video
  • Negotiating and coordinating with local printers to produce all materials on time
  • $16,000 automatic savings using our company with our lowest nonprofit pricing compared to a larger full-service agency
  • Completely custom event logo, branding, landing page on their website (which we also built), integration with their existing checkout and donation platforms
  • Banner art, table branding, name tags, PowerPoint presentations, custom invitations, and more.

Powell Foundation Branding Project and Website Launch

  • Collaborated with three generations of the Powell family to ensure the logo and brand design is in line with early founders as well as future generations.
  • Designed presentations, infographics, and custom iconography.
  • Created full brand guide with various use examples for growth of the foundation.
  • Review of historical photos for edit and selection for the website.
  • Educated the team on how to update and maintain the brand on their own, but we remain available for support if ever needed.

Glenwood Cemetery 150th Anniversary Campaign

  • Not a rebrand, only a temporary 150th anniversary logo referencing a century-old oak located on the property.
  • Interactive timeline on their website, custom designed with moving elements and pop outs much like this page.
  • Custom folder denoting the legacies of the people who are buried in the grounds.
  • Social media campaigns to further devote time to educating the public on its historical significance, art, and natural splendor.
  • Custom archives website and system for requesting private visitation of the historical artifact collections.
  • Interactive PDF that linked to the website or donation platform, and jumped around the same PDF using anchor links.

Houston Saengerbund 140th Anniversary Rebrand

  • Launching in 2025 with their new website.
  • We worked closely with the board to create a brand that would capture 140 years of memories. In the end, we decided to base the brand on the German word “Gemütlichkeit” which refers to cozy feeling of home and acceptance and has no translation to English.
  • Worked on gamifying the experience of attending their events to preserve history but welcome future generations.
  • Visual design is the voicewave of “Gemütlichkeit” made up of different shapes. The future of Saengerbund will always revolve around sound, whether the German language or song, but also invites the visual pun of round holes and square pegs, and insinuating that their traditions will be continued and welcomed by all kinds of people.

Recommended Video Vendors

Love Story Collection for HGO

Vendor: Vision Production Team

We’ve worked with them for Space Center Houston, have known the team for over three years. They have very advanced editing capabilities, not just recording of interviews. They also produce and record live events such as the Kinder Institute’s annual luncheon.

Additional HGO Vendor of Note: BEND Productions LLC

Ben Doyle continues to produce their season trailers and record their actual operas. We’ve also worked with him and his wife (Executive Director of Houston Contemporary Dance Company) for almost six years. He records Ars Lyrica and others as well.

Houston Endowment's Cultural Districts Video Project

Vendor: Zainob+Mathew Create

We haven’t worked with this vendor personally but they have continued to work with the Houston Cultural Districts and fully recorded and edited this video.

How the video is used in conjunction with our work:

East End Houston's Stories Collection

Vendor: The Storyhive

They have recorded a variety of videos for us through East End Improvement Corp. in order to promote their 2-mile mural project along Navigation Blvd. We were tasked with helping bring tourism to the area and videos were one method we used to bring awareness of the artists and the project in general.

We are also using them in the upcoming promotional work for Fall in Love with East End, a district-wide studio open house occurring in February.

Let's Work Together!

It would be our sincere honor to work with the Brown Foundation. You’ve now gotten to know us a little better. Let’s continue the journey.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Gracie if you need anything else to make your decision.

Gracie Padrón Steimle

Founder

Branding Consultant | Graphic Design | UI Design | Digital Artist | Web Design & Development

Gracie was born in Camaguey, Cuba, and immigrated at the age of six to Miami with her parents, brother, and whatever possessions they could fit into suitcases. None of them had ever left the island nor spoke English and her parents’ university degrees were suddenly worthless. Her mother managed to find work as a graphic designer in a Spanish-language newspaper for over a decade before cancer forced her to retire early. Gracie spent six years by her bedside in hospitals while also attending her local university and working full time as a designer herself, until her mother was finally declared cancer-free.

In 2016, she was selected to be graphic designer for Houston Grand Opera. She packed up all her belongings once again, this time into her little Hyundai hatchback, and started anew in Houston, Texas. A mere year later, at the age of 26, she had enough contacts and clients to start Padrón Design Studio, which offered digital marketing services to mostly performing arts nonprofits and small businesses.

Her business grew approximately 30% per year, slowly but confidently, until COVID-19. Nonprofits were suddenly forced to pivot to digital marketing to keep their programs alive and 20 new clients joined in 2020 alone. Gracie was forced to hire quickly as she had just given birth to her first son and couldn’t handle the workload. In 2022, the company was renamed Padrón & Co. to better capture the wide range of services offered.

After seven years as founder, creative director, and lead marketing strategist, Gracie and her team have helped over 100 companies grow their causes, raise more money, reach more people in need, and get more visitors to their sites. Her capital campaigns have helped nonprofits bring in over $25 million in donations and grants, and her work with small businesses has helped them bring in over $100 million in new work.

She dedicates every spare second to her wonderful husband Alex, 4-year-old son Matthew, and newborn son Henry.

Daryl Freedman

Director of Content Marketing

Digital Marketing & Advertising | Social Media Management Copywriting & Editing

A not-quite-native Houstonian, Daryl was born in Nuremburg, Germany where her dad was stationed in the U.S. Army. She found her way to Texas as soon as she could and earned her B.A. in Communication and M.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Houston (#GoCoogs).

Daryl has worked in marketing and communications for more than 25 years. Her experience includes positions in television production at KRIV Fox 26; public relations for the Houston Humane Society, Six Flags AstroWorld, and the American Heart Association; and digital marketing for the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center of Houston.

She lives in the Meyerland area with her husband (whom she married on the island of St. Thomas via a Carnival Cruise), two teens and two cats. She enjoys reading, baking, and digging in the dirt in her garden.

Minhthy Vu

Director of Client Operations

Creative Project Management | Account Management | Client Relations

Minhthy is a first-generation American and native Houstonian with a B.A. in Communication/Public Relations from the University of Houston.

Her professional growth began in communications with a focus on Asian American communities, lending her expertise to nonprofit organizations and local political campaigns, including notable figures like Ellen Cohen and former Mayor Annise Parker. From there, Minhthy delved into the dynamic world of video games before finding her niche in the startup/tech sphere.

While her career trajectory led her through various roles including human resources, customer success, and project management across industries, Minhthy’s passions always remained tethered to marketing and communication. Now, she’s back where it all began!

Nestled in the Spring Branch area alongside her husband and two cats, Cobalt and Elsie, Minhthy enjoys cooking, traveling, hiking, reading, and literally any kind of crafting. If you happen to be scrolling through Netflix, keep an eye out for Minhthy. You might just spot her in Episode 7 of “Cook at All Costs!”
